A murder-suicide occurred on Fatherland Street on June 17.

Around 10:15 p.m., a female identified as Amy Williams, 41, was fatally wounded by her ex-boyfriend, according to police.

According to a release, Williams was on the sidewalk in front of her home, talking to her sister when her ex-boyfriend drove by.

He parked his pickup truck near her home. Williams went to talk to him for about five minutes before shots were fired.

Williams’ ex-boyfriend has been identified as Andrew Tucker.

Tucker then shot himself in the head after walking to his truck.

Williams was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died. Tucker died on the scene.

Witnesses say there was no shouting or confrontation before the gunfire.
