NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The TBI says a missing 3-year-old from East Tennessee has been found safe.

The agency issued an Endangered Child Alert after Erik Monty was last seen around 11 p.m. Wednesday at a home in Oakdale, which is in Morgan County.

Erik was believed to be with a 24-year-old man who recently dated his mother. The child's mother was also believed to be with them but was believed to be suffering from what the TBI called "a serious medical emergency."

According to the TBI, the man was involved in a "domestic violence incident" with people at the home in Oakdale, which is when he left with Erik and his mother.

Authorities said they believed the man was driving the mother and son to a local hospital in an older model red Mercedes sedan. He may have been intoxicated.

The TBI did not release any further details about Erik being found.
