Murfreesboro man arrested in Illinois after stabbing woman multiple times

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

According to Murfreesboro Police, a suspect accused of stabbing a woman multiple times in a domestic incident has been arrested in Illinois. 

Officers responded to a call on Saturday, June 10, on Windwalker Court where they found a woman with multiple stab wounds on her face, torso and legs. 

She was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford and then to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. 

After an investigation at the scene, the Violent Crimes Unit named Jeremy Kelly, 34, as a suspect, obtaining warrants for his arrest for Attempted Second Degree Murder. 

With the help of the Chicago-based FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, investigators located the suspect in Aurora, Ill. and arrested him without incident on Tuesday, June 13. 

Kelly is being held in Illinois and will soon be extradited back to Tennessee soon.
