CHARLOTTE, TN (WSMV) -

One person was killed and another was injured in a crash in Dickson County Tuesday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

THP says a vehicle pulling a trailer was driving west on Stayton Road around 11:40 p.m. when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign at State Highway 48. The car then collided with another vehicle traveling north, driving the northbound vehicle off the road.

The passenger of the vehicle that was struck was ejected from the vehicle and killed. She has been identified as 68-year-old Gladena Chadwick from Cunningham. Chadwick was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck and a passenger in the vehicle driving on Stayton Road were both injured.

Officers found no evidence of impairment at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that failed to stop was cited for failure to obey traffic and failure to yield. Criminal charges are not expected.
