CENTERVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

It is a heartbreaking end to a five-day search for a missing man from Hickman County.

The father of four was found dead on Monday afternoon as our Channel 4 News crew was in the area.

"Josh would never do this, he always comes home he is a family man. The night he didn't come home I knew something was wrong," said Britteny Prior, Josh Hendrix's wife.

Josh Hendrix was last seen on Wednesday leaving work in Nashville.

He called his wife to let her know he was on his way, but he never made it home.

Channel 4 News was interviewing the Hendrix family just minutes before they got the news he was found dead.

Emergency crews found Hendrix inside his car at 3801 Highway 48 down an embankment.

Officials on the scene said he likely veered off the curvy road, hit several trees and his car flipped.

He was found Monday just after 5 p.m. about a mile away from his home.
