LINDEN, TN (WSMV) -

Months after a baby is found dead in her crib, her parents have been arrested and are accused of killing her.

A Perry County judge arraigned Laura Mosher and Marc Mosher Jr. Monday morning on murder and child abuse charges.

Officials said the baby was dehydrated and starved to death.

Disturbing details in the police report showed the child may have been dead for a while before help arrived.

"It's just been a bad, unfortunate event," said Perry County Sheriff Nick Weems.

The Moshers are both accused of aggravated child abuse and the mother is also charged with murder.

"Both were arrested last week. We had to have her picked up in Ohio," Weems said.

Pictures on social media show the Mosher's 10-month-old baby girl. Weems said he won't forget responding to their house on Short Creek Road on Jan. 12.

"Whenever I got there, I had done a walk-through of the residence and we'd seen some things that didn't add up," said Weems.

Deputies found the baby dead wearing a one-piece body suit with socks on in a 79-degree room. The child's legs were hanging from the crib and her body temperature was just 89 degrees.

"It just appeared that the child had been there for longer than what was being told to us," said Weems.

The mother told police her baby seemed fine when she laid her down in the crib and then she called 911 a few hours later.

It was enough for the grand jury to indict both parents last month.
