NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Some hockey fans aren't taking well to what Pittsburgh Penguins player Sidney Crosby did to the Nashville Predator P.K. Subban Thursday night during the Stanley Cup Final.

In Game 5, Crosby and Subban got into it behind the net with Crosby repeatedly shoving Subban's head into the ice.

Channel 4 showed the clip to hockey fans on Friday. Kim and Sierra King from Toronto, Canada, didn't care for the fight.

"Him smashing his head into the ice, that's not really the game," said Sierra King. "It doesn't bring much to it except violence. I mean, it's not getting anything done."

Others said it was not a good show of sportsmanship.

"I thought it was rather dirty when he was pushing his face into the ice," said Mickey Sabella of Charlotte, NC. "I know that they've had words through the series, but I really thought that Crosby would be a little classier than that."

But Penguins fans Channel 4 found in downtown Nashville said it's no big deal.

"I think you know that's part of hockey. There's a lot of stuff going on before and after the whistle, and it's up to the referees to kind of manage that and keep track of that," said Dale Thomas, of Pittsburgh, PA.

People on social media also sounded off. Celebrities like Carrie Underwood tweeted "this isn't cool" and "shouldn't have gone on so long." Pens fans noted it looked like "Subban had Crosby's head and stick," and it looked like "Crosby was trying to get up and couldn't." Other Twitter users said "it's playoff hockey. Of course it's going to get feisty."

"That's not the point. The point is talent. Gotta get the puck in the net, figure that out," said Kim King of Toronto, Canada.

Crosby and Subban were both penalized after the scuffle. The NHL has not made any comment about fining Crosby or taking action against him.
