No injuries reported after small plane crash at John C. Tune Airport

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The FAA will be investigating after a small plane crashed at John C. Tune Airport on Thursday morning.

Officials said the pilot was the only person on board the single-engine Cessna 172 when it crashed onto the runway and flipped.

The Metropolitan Airport Authority Department of Public Safety responded to the scene at 10 a.m.

No injuries have been reported. Officials said fuel did not leak from the plane involved in the crash.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the accident resulted from a mishap during landing.

Flight operations are expected to resume between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. after the plane is carried off the site.
