NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police are investigating a shooting in west Nashville on Monday afternoon.

Police said the shooting happened in the 4700 block of Charlotte Avenue just after 4 p.m.

Witnesses say a black man and a Hispanic man got into an argument inside a McDonald's restaurant. The argument spilled out into the parking lot, where the black man allegedly shot the Hispanic man in the chest.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.

Police say the suspect fled on foot.

The McDonald’s is closed during the investigation. Police are trying to get surveillance video from the restaurant and find the suspect.

Channel 4 has a crew on the scene and will have more details as they become available.
