Hundreds show up for fun run to support Metro Police

Posted: Updated:

The 2017 Shoney's 5K Family Fun Run & Walk kicked off at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Titan's kicker Ryan Succop was there to count the racers down. Hundreds showed up to walk, run and push strollers through downtown Nashville.

The course ran down Demonbreun and through Music Row, starting and finishing on John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Participants were treated to a Shoney's breakfast buffet and live music at the finish line.

Today's run raised $15,000 for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Support Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. That organization provides scholarships for police officers and Support projects to strengthen relations between the police department and the Nashville community.
