ANAHEIM, Calif. (WSMV) -- -

The Nashville Predators had another strong showing in Game 1 of their first-ever Western Conference final, beating the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in overtime.

This win gives them a jump on the round like they have experienced in every round of the playoffs so far.

In the opening round of the playoffs, the Predators eliminated the Chicago Blackhawks in a four-game sweep. They grabbed a Game 1 victory in St. Louis as well, eliminating the Blues after six games.

Will the Ducks be their next victims?

The Predators went into Game 1 with three extra days of rest. The Predators have also shown a lot of strength both at home and away.

They had a more difficult path to the Western Conference final, only knocking out the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7.

Game 2 will also be played in Anaheim. The Ducks main objective will be avoiding another 0-2 deficit in second-straight series, slowing down some of Nashville's momentum.

The puck will drop in Anaheim on Sunday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. CT on NBC Sports.
