NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Main Commencement Ceremony at Vanderbilt University has been moved inside because of the rain.

The ceremony was supposed to happen on the Alumni Lawn but has been moved to Memorial Gym.

Students and their families are urged to allow for 30 minutes of extra travel time.

Undergraduate students have to arrive to the gym floor by 8 a.m.

The main gym where the commencement will be held is not air-conditioned. The practice gym inside the Memorial Gym complex does have air-conditioning and will have a large theater-style screen set up to view the ceremony. Vanderbilt officials are urging those who have special needs or who are sensitive to heat to watch the ceremony inside the practice gym.

Shuttles will be taking guests from the Terrace Place and Wesley Place garages and dropping them off at the corner of Jess Neely Drive and 25th Avenue South. The Kensington and 25th Avenue parking garages will also be available but will not have shuttles.

Wheelchair pickup will be at the corner of Jess Neely Drive and 25th Avenue South. The wheelchair entrance to the gymnasium is at the same corner.
