Motorcyclist dies from injuries after crash in Franklin

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

The motorcyclist who was involved in a crash in Franklin on Wednesday has died from his injuries.

The crash happened on E. McEwen Drive near Carothers Parkway around 5:30 p.m.

According to the Franklin Police Department, the driver of an SUV changed lanes and knocked the motorcycle into the curb.

The victim was thrown off the motorcycle before his vehicle hit a tree. Officers found the 44-year-old motorcyclist in a wooded area off the road.

The motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police said charges have not been filed against the driver of the SUV, who is a 50-year-old woman from Nolensville.
