NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Country music legend Loretta Lynn is recovering after suffering a stroke last week.

Lynn's daughter, granddaughter and assistant say she is doing better each day and is sitting up in her recliner, laughing and talking.

Lynn was admitted to a Nashville hospital on Thursday night after suffering a stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills.

Lynn has been receiving prayers and calls from all over the country.

Garth Brooks took to Facebook to offer his well wishes.

“The Queen of queens, Loretta Lynn. Please know our love is with you, our strength is with you, and our money is on you. I know you’re already running the place there in ICU. All of our love and all of our strength is with you," Brooks said.

Lynn's upcoming shows have been postponed.
