NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A suspected bank robber was arrested minutes after holding up a West End Avenue bank.

Metro police said Anthony Corbin, 51, was arrested about five minutes after Pinnacle Bank, 2300 West End Ave., was held up by an armed man.

Police said Corbin entered the bank at 10:45 a.m. and demanded money from a teller at gunpoint. After receiving the cash, he fled.

Officers Johnny Seidl and Kevin Crawford spotted Corbin, who matched the description of the robber provided by bank staff, walking on a sidewalk near the intersection of West End and 21st avenues. He was found carrying a BB pistol that resembled a semi-automatic handgun, two large knives and money.

Federal charges of bank robbery are expected to be filed against Corbin, who has prior convictions for aggravated robbery, robbery and drug possession.
