(MEREDITH/AP) -- Christopher Boykin, best known for his role on MTV’s “Rob & Big,” died Tuesday of a heart attack, according to sources at People Magazine.

Boykin starred in “Rob & Big” with Rob Dyrdek - former professional skateboarder turned MTV star. Dyrdek’s bodyguard and known friend also made cameos in MTV’s “Fantasy Factory” and “Ridiculousness.”

MTV immediately issued this statement on Boykin's passing.

Rob Dyrdek reacted on Twitter late Tuesday night, "My heart is broken. I don't want [to] write this post. I don't want to believe that this is reality. I am so thankful for you."

Chanel West Coast, who knew Boykin and worked on “Fantasy Factory,” tweeted, “RIP @BigBlack. My heart is crushed. I’ll remember all the times you made me laugh and my prayers go out to your family."
