NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say a convicted felon was arrested on drug charges in north Nashville on Tuesday morning.

Officers received a tip around 1:30 a.m. about drugs being sold on the 900 bock of 33rd Avenue North.

Danny Lunsford, 42, reportedly had a small amount of marijuana, 8 grams of cocaine packaged for resale and two handguns with him when he was arrested.

Two North Precinct officers said they saw Lunsford get out of a maroon Chrysler Sebring and attempt to walk away. Lunsford was taken into custody.

Police said a silver revolver was in plain sight inside that car, as well as a second handgun between the driver’s seat and center console. The cocaine and marijuana was also recovered.

Lunsford is charged with cocaine possession in a drug-free zone, felon in possession of a handgun and gun possession during commission of a drug offense. He is being held on $40,000 bond.
