MOUNT JULIET, TN (WSMV) -

A man is recovering from his injuries after being hit by a car in Mt. Juliet.

The pedestrian was trying to cross South Mt. Juliet Road near Providence Parkway when he was struck on Sunday night.

Wilson County officials said the man was unresponsive when first responders arrived.

The victim is in his 30s. Officials have not yet released his name.

It's not clear if the man was in a crosswalk when he was hit.

South Mt. Juliet Road was closed for nearly an hour while troopers investigated. The road has since reopened.
