Police: Man, 3-year-old girl injured in accidental shooting

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police in Clarksville say a man and a 3-year-old girl were hit in an accidental shooting on Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the shooting call in the 200 block of Caldwell Lane just after 3 p.m.

Investigators say an apparent accidental discharge resulted in the child and the 27-year-old man being hit. The little girl was hit in her left thigh and the man was hit near his ankle.

Police are still investigating how the gun was discharged.

The child was flown by helicopter to the hospital and is in stable condition. The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital and is also in stable condition.
