Police investigating fatal shooting in East Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in East Nashville on Monday morning.

The 911 call was made at 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of Marina and North 9th streets.

When officers arrived, they found John Moss, 39, on the behind his running vehicle. He had multiple gunshot wounds.

Moss was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe the shooting may have been drug-related. Officers said a small bag of what appeared to be crack cocaine was found on the front seat of Moss’ vehicle.

Witnesses said the shooter ran to a newer model silver Chevrolet Impala and drove away.
