More music business is coming to Music City.

“We make a lot of things in Tennessee, but the thing we’re most famous for is making music,” Gov. Bill Haslam said.

Haslam and Mayor Megan Barry joined Warner Music executives on Monday to celebrate the opening of the label’s shared services operations in Nashville.

Beginning next year, Warner will more 175 jobs to Nashville, encompassing finance, legal affairs and licensing.

“Obviously it’s always about the music. That’s Warner’s mantra,” said Kris Ahrend, president of shared services with Warner Music Group. “But there are a lot of folks behind the scenes that support all of those labels and those artists.”

The shared services division is located downtown and is separate from Warner’s current location on Music Row.

Warner is also hiring. Executives said jobs will be posted on the company’s website in the coming days.
