The Tennessee Titans announced on Monday that they have released cornerback Perrish Cox and will promote cornerback Kalen Reed from the practice squad.
Cox, signed by the Titans in March 2015, played in 11 games this season with nine starts. He had three interceptions but has struggled in coverage in recent games.
Reed, a seventh-round draft pick by the Titans from Southern Miss, agreed to terms with the team on Monday morning.
Reed, who lived in Nashville in his early years, had eight interceptions – three for touchdowns – for the Eagles. He also had 152 career tackles and 35 passes defensed.
As a 5-year-old, Reed played for the Flatrock Vols youth football pee-wee team that played at Nissan Stadium during halftime.
