Some pets dead, more rescued in Clarksville fire

Posted: Updated:

Many animals are safe after a Clarksville home caught fire Saturday night.

According to Deputy Chief Ray Williams of Clarksville Fire Rescue, a fire started around 8 p.m. last night at a home on Bel Air Boulevard.

Williams reported a large number of pets, including dogs and birds, were inside the home that was otherwise unoccupied.

The fire started in a bedroom near an electrical outlet.

Some of the animals died in the fire.

We are working to confirm exactly how many animals were involved in the incident.
