Suspicious duplex fire displaces Nashville family

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Fire crew continue to investigate a suspicious duplex fire that displaced one Nashville family early Friday morning.

Crews responded to the call on Coarsey Drive around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The fire started on the unoccupied side of the duplex and soon spread. According to a neighbor, a family of five living on the other side had to evacuate.

The fire rekindled on the unoccupied side of the house around 6:30 a.m. with smoke coming from the attic.

There’s a sign posted in the yard that says “For Rent.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation and is considered suspicious.
