One of the largest 5-mile races in the country ran through Nashville on Thursday.

The Boulevard Bolt attracts runners from across the United States, including the Rosenwein family from New Jersey.

David and all nine of his cousins have been running back to the Bolt for the last four years.

“It’s just nice to be able to start the Thanksgiving Day early, get the run going,” said David Rosenwein. “Be thankful for what we have and obviously thankful for family. We don’t get to see each other that much, so it’s always great to see each other and get to run together.”

Since 1994 the Boulevard Bolt has grown from 2,500 participants to over 8,500 runners this year. The event also has raised nearly $3 million for Nashville’s homeless over the years.
