BRENTWOOD, TN (WSMV) -

Some Brentwood homeowners got a rude awakening overnight when a water main broke.

The pipe burst on Concord Pass near Concord Road just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

Water started spilling from under the road and into a ditch that runs into a neighborhood.

Some yards were severely flooded. One man had water flowing into the crawl space under his home.

City crews were called to shut off the water to the area.

Nolensville Utility says they don't know what caused the break, but they had to replace a segment of PVC pipe.  Water service was restored about 12 hours later.
