CHATTANOOGA, TN (WSMV) -

A sixth student has died after a bus crash on Talley Road in Chattanooga on Monday.

Chattanooga police confirmed the child died Wednesday at the hospital. The five other victims died in the crash.

Family members have identified the victim as 8-year-old Keyonte Wilson.

Five children still remain in the hospital.

At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Chattanooga police said driver Johnthony Walker was not impaired at the time of the deadly bus crash. They said Walker’s blood work showed no sign of drugs or alcohol.

National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Christopher Hart said the road where the crash happened is not a designated route for the bus Walker was driving.

Police said they are reviewing the bus’ cameras, but Hart explained that the NTSB is having trouble downloading the data because of the damage to the bus.

Three cameras were mounted to the bus: one facing the back, one facing forward and one facing the boarding door. Investigators are hoping the data can be restored.

Police said they have not yet spoken to the children who were on the bus. They said they are waiting for some of the children to get better and work with professionals who can help children in police interviews.

Zoie Nash, 9, was among those killed in the crash. Her brother Zechariah is still in the ICU. Their family said they don’t understand how this happened.

“It doesn’t make sense,” said Candace Nash, the children’s aunt.

“I just want to see if they remember anything that he said or might have said right before the incident might have happened,” said Tamia Hill, a family friend.

Family members said Zechariah knows his sister was hurt but they aren’t sure if he knows she died. He has a collapsed lung, head injuries, a broken arm and several other injuries.

People were still coming to Talley Road to drop off flowers and balloons where the bus crashed.
