Channel 4, Mayor Barry serve Thanksgiving meals to homeless

Posted: Updated:

Members of the Channel 4 family served up turkey, dressing and all the sides at the Nashville Rescue Mission on Wednesday.

Lisa Spencer was joined by her son and daughter, along with Chris Harris. Mayor Megan Barry also helped serve.

Channel 4 asked the mayor what she’s thankful for this Thanksgiving.

“I am so thankful for all of the Metro employees who get up every day and serve Nashville. I’m thankful for our police officers, our firefighters, our teachers, the people who pick up our garbage, public works, folks who worry about our storm water, and everybody else in Metro who goes out of their way every day to make sure Nashvillians have what they need and that we have a great quality of life,” Barry said.

Barry will kick of the Boulevard Bolt five-mile run and walk the morning of Thanksgiving. The yearly event raises money for Nashville’s homeless.

The mayor will then serve more meals across the county.
