NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Detectives are asking for help in identifying two robbers, caught on surveillance, who attacked a woman Saturday night near First Tennessee Park.

The 59-year-old victim had attended a TPAC performance and was walking on Junior Gilliam Way to her 3rd Avenue North apartment at approximately 10:55 p.m. when the two men approached her from behind and struck her in the head with a metal stake, knocking her to the ground.

The robbers took the victim’s purse and cell phone before fleeing on foot in different directions.

The victim made it back to her apartment from where she called for help. She was transported to the hospital with a serious gash to her head.

The robbers are described as young black men in their late teens.

Anyone who recognizes these two men is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or send an electronic tip by texting “CASH” along with their message to 274637.
