Man charged in East Nashville stabbing

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

One man has been charged in the stabbing that critically injured a man inside his apartment in the 1000 block of Russell Street.

During an interview with police, Ralph Martin Jr., 41, admitted to stabbing the victim, taking his credit card and using it at an area convenience store.

He is now charged with attempted criminal homicide.

Martin is a registered ex-con for burglary. He has been jailed since Thursday on charges unrelated to the stabbing.

Martin has seven aggravated burglary and five felony theft convictions and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
