NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The man wanted for questioning concerning the Nov. 12 stabbing of a man inside his east Nashville apartment is now in custody.

A Metro police officer identified Ralph Martin Jr., 51, as a possible suspect. He was arrested Thursday on South 4th Street on charges unrelated to the stabbing case.

Martin, a registered ex-convict for burglary, had outstanding warrants for auto burglary, aggravated assault, harassment and theft of property. Police said he refused to talk to detectives.

Police said the investigation into his involvement in the stabbing at his apartment in the 1000 block of Russell Street is active and ongoing. The victim remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

Martin has seven aggravated burglary and five felony theft convictions.
