NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Two of the four defendants charged with attempted murder in the shooting of an 11-year-old boy learned their fate in court on Wednesday.

Porsha Medaries and Brandon Scott pleaded guilty to attempted murder and reckless endangerment.

Police say they were involved in a drive-by shooting on Fern Avenue in March 2015 in which a stray bullet hit Keon Malone in the head.

Brandon Scott took the stand and addressed Keon's family on Wednesday.

“I want to speak to the family, let y’all know that, that was never my intention for anybody to get hurt, especially a little boy … and I really apologize for that,” Scott said.

Medaries also took the stand.

“I want to say I’m sorry to the victim and the victim’s family and also to the neighborhood for the destruction that I caused," she said.

Medaries was sentenced to 21 years. Brandon Scott was sentenced to 25 years.

Keon's family said he has some brain damage that will affect his motor skills, including his speech, for the rest of his life.

Co-defendant Jamar Medaries has a hearing on Thursday. Vadra Jackson has pleaded to multiple counts of reckless endangerment. She must serve a full eight-year sentence.
