NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Two years ago, Candace Quarells was a Belmont student sitting in a dark theater, listening to alumni actors come in and tell students what the acting life is like.

Wednesday night at TPAC, Quarells is a key player on stage in the traveling production of The Book of Mormon.

Quarells said she is shocked that she has come so far in just two years.

“It really is amazing that I was just here walking these halls and now I’m doing what I love full-time,” she said. “And I just tell everyone, keep at it. It will happen for you as well.”

Quarells was back on campus Wednesday talking to Belmont theater students. They heard the actors and realized even more that their time is coming.

“It really is so exciting to know that what she’s doing, we’ll be doing as well sometime soon. It really gives you that feeling of wow, this is really happening,” said Holden Hanna, a Belmont theater student.

“I just love it here at Belmont because we just keep learning, and learning from people that were in our shoes just a few years ago is an incredible opportunity,” said Katie Grogg, a Belmont theater student.

Tickets are still available for the Tony Award-winning musical, but not many are left.

The Book of Mormon continues through Sunday at TPAC.
