WASHINGTON (AP) - Bryce Harper singled in the winning run in the 10th inning, Brian Goodwin homered twice and the Washington Nationals got a solid performance from their bullpen in a 6-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night. Anthony Rendon and Daniel Murphy also homered for the Nationals, who trailed 5-2 in the sixth before coming back to deal the Reds their 12th loss in 13 games.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies just couldn't sit out the NBA Draft, so they swapped a future second-round selection apiece for a pair of second-round players. The Grizzlies landed power forward Ivan Rabb of California with the 35th pick in a draft-night trade with the Orlando Magic, then made a deal with the Houston Rockets for the rights to shooting forward Dillon Brooks of Oregon.
MIAMI (AP) - Miami has chosen Kentucky forward Bam Adebayo with the 14th overal pick in the NBA draft. Adebayo averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Wildcats in his lone college season, earning second-team All-SEC honors. He's the second lottery pick for the Heat in the last nine drafts.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Malik Monk is thrilled with the idea of playing for the Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets. The former Kentucky guard said after being selected in the NBA draft so that he still can't believe it, but "maybe tomorrow I'll believe it."
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Jason Rogers hit a two-run home run and had three hits, and Clay Holmes allowed just four hits over seven innings as the Indianapolis Indians beat the Louisville Bats 6-2 on Friday. Holmes allowed two runs while striking out seven and walking one to pick up the win.
