8 pounds beef short ribs
Famous Dave's Steak & Burger Seasoning to taste
½ tsp coarse ground pepper
1 large onion, quartered, separated
1 10 ounce can beef consommé
2 C Famous Dave's Rich N Sassy BBQ Sauce
2 T sweet pickle relish
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Sprinkle the ribs generously on all sides with steak seasoning and the pepper. Place the ribs in a heavy roasting pan. Top with onion. Pour the consommé around the ribs, being careful not to knock the seasonings off the ribs. Bake, covered, for 2 ½ hours.
Remove the ribs to a platter; skim the fat from the juices. Remove the beef from the bones, discarding the bones. Return the beef to the pan.
Pour a mixture of the BBQ sauce and pickle relish over the beef. Bake, covered, for 45 minutes; remove the cover. Bake 15 minutes longer.
