NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A bicyclist was killed in a crash in Antioch on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at 2:40 p.m. in the 3000 block of Murfreesboro Pike near Mount View Road.

Police said the bicyclist, later identified as Michael Wilson, was riding from the center lane into a southbound traffic lane when he was hit by an SUV.

Wilson, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 36-year-old Kartan Reid, was not injured.

Police said the contributing factors in the crash were Wilson's failure to use the bike lane and failure to yield.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said criminal charges are not expected to be filed in this crash.
