NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man suspected of burglarizing businesses in south Nashville over the past two months is now in custody.

Devontia Davis, 48, was arrested early Friday morning on an outstanding probation violation warrant by Hermitage Precinct Officer Justin Chisolm. Officer Chisholm contacted South Precinct detectives to notify them that Davis matched the description of the burglary suspect.

During an interview with South Precinct Detective Rick Heiman, Davis admitted to breaking into V H Place at 175 Lafayette St. as well as past break-ins on Oct. 1 and Sept. 29. He told detectives he also broke into six or seven businesses since Aug. 1 but couldn’t remember any details.

Davis is charged with burglary, vandalism, theft and possession of burglary tools, with additional charges pending. Davis has previous theft and drug possession convictions and is being held in lieu of $27,500 bond.
