Robbery reported near Vanderbilt University campus

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Vanderbilt University Police Department issued an alert to students and faculty about an armed robbery near campus on Friday afternoon.

The victim told police they were robbed by a man with a gun in the driveway between Panera and Starbucks on 21st Avenue South around 1:30 p.m.

The suspect was seen leaving the scene in a gray car, possibly a Chevy Malibu, with front bumper damage heading away from campus toward downtown.

The police department said the victim is not a Vanderbilt student.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Vanderbilt Police Department at 615-322-2745.
