NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say they have arrested a man who may be connected to a shooting outside a north Nashville gas station.

The shooting happened at the Marathon market on 28th Avenue North just before 10 p.m. Thursday.

Police said someone inside a Chevrolet Blazer fired multiple shots, damaging two cars in the parking lot. The SUV crashed moments later on 28th Avenue North near the Interstate 40 overpass.

Later that night, officers received a report about a shooting victim showing up at a home on the 2700 block of Herman Street and asking for help.

The man, Brandon Juwaun Elliot, had injuries to his forehead, arm and hand. Investigators said they traced a trail of blood back to a trash can on Herman Street, which is where they found a gun.

Police asked Elliot if he was in the Blazer at the gas station, but Elliot reportedly refused to cooperate.

Elliott was later released from the hospital and booked into jail on several outstanding warrants, including domestic assault, vehicle theft and vandalism.

Before Elliott was arrested Friday morning, he was free on $20,000 bond in connection to felony cocaine charges from May. On Friday, a judicial commissioner set his bond at $113,000.
