SPRING HILL, TN (WSMV) -

A Spring Hill woman was arrested on multiple drug and weapon charges after police and the fire department responded to a home on Sutherland Drive on Tuesday.

Due to recent concerns about arson in the area, fire and police responded to 2861 Sutherland Drive regarding a possible fire.

According to police, an officer smelled smoke coming from the home upon arrival. The officer also detected the smell of burnt and fresh marijuana coming from the same area.

After firefighters left the scene, officers approached Deborah Savino, 64, the homeowner, and asked about the marijuana smell.

The homeowner produced a box of fresh cut marijuana and the officer saw marijuana plants in the area.

Police said the Savino had just finished cutting marijuana from the plant and disposed of the plant stalks in her burn pit.

After interviewing Savino, police obtained a search warrant for the home. They found a large quantity of marijuana, other narcotics, firearms and roughly $17,400 in cash.

Savino was charged with manufacturing and distribution of Schedule VI narcotic, possession of a firearm during a felony offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Williamson County Jail and is now free after posting a $40,000 bond.
