MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

Sunday marks one year since local fisherman Gregg Hawkins was murdered.

On Thursday, his wife and daughters will be coming forward and making another public plea for help in solving the case.

Hawkins was with one of his daughters when he was shot and killed at the Mona Boat Ramp in Murfreesboro.

Investigators believe he may have encountered someone who was breaking into cars.

His daughter, who was waiting in the boat by the water, did not see the shooter.

A reward of at least $50,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

People with information about the case are asked to call Detective Kyle Norrod at 615-904-3043 or Crime stoppers at 615-893-STOP.

Investigators are looking for information from people who have previously talked about knowing details on the case, descriptions of people who might have been seen leaving or entering the boat dock between 10:30 and 11 a.m., descriptions of anyone acting suspicious in the area or a vehicle driving recklessly on Oct. 16, 2015.

The news conference will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. You will be able to watch it live on WSMV.com.
