A 2-year-old boy was killed on Tuesday morning in a two-car crash on State Highway 76 in Montgomery County, according to police reports.

Terrance Harris, 28, of Oak Grove, KY, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Impala west on Highway 76 near Ford Road when the car crossed the center line and crashed into a cement truck driven by Dexter McDaniel, 43, of Clarksville.

The preliminary report indicated that McDaniel slammed his brakes before the collision. The Impala came to rest in the grass on the right side of the road. The cement truck overturned on both lanes of the road.

A two-year-old from Springfield in the car with Harris was killed and Harris was injured. Jamal Lipford, 19, who was a passenger in the car, was not injured.

Authorities said charges are pending.
