Former UT football player sentenced to jail in Florida

BRISTOL, TN (WSMV) -

Former University of Tennessee football player Mack Crowder has been ordered to jail in Florida.

According to NBC affiliate WCYB, the 23-year-old Crowder was ordered by a judge to spend two months in jail. He pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful use of a communication device.

The Bristol native was arrested in February aAfter police said he sought out and engaged in an online sexual conversation with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl. It was actually an undercover agent.

Five charges were originally filed against Crowder. Four were withdrawn by the state’s attorney.

While Crowder pled guilty, the judge withheld adjudication. State’s attorney Paul Bolan said that decision was made because Crowder had no prior criminal record.

fter his jail sentence, Crowder is ordered to spend three years on probation.
