MTSU poll shows Obama approval rating has risen in TN

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A new poll shows Tennesseans regard the sitting president more highly than ever before.

In the latest MTSU poll, President Obama has a 42 percent approval rating that's up from 31 percent earlier this year.

Gov. Bill Haslam's streak of popularity continues at 58 percent approval.

Approval ratings for U.S. Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker are both at 45 percent.

It's worth noting this poll was taken before news of Donald Trump's lewd comments about women in 2005 and before Corker announced he would be on Trump's National Security Advisory Council.
