Historic Nashville releases list of most endangered places

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Local preservationists have released their list of Nashville's nine most endangered places.

Fort Negley Park is among the sites that made the cut. The landmark is home to a Civil War fort, Greer Stadium and the Adventure Science Center.

City leaders are considering redevelopment proposals for Greer Stadium.

Historic Nashville is urging them to avoid damaging archaeological sites and the remnants of some recreational baseball and softball fields.

The group has also expressed concerns about the rapid changes along Music Row. In recent years, dozens of historic buildings have been demolished for new construction.

Lat year, Music Row was designated as a national treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Historians say there is no other place like it in the country.
