Team USA men's volleyball will take on the No. 2 team in the world in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET.
The Americans draw Poland with the first matchup in elimination play as both teams lost out on higher seeds due to tiebreakers.
The U.S. was tied with Canada and Brazil with six points in Pool A, but Canada held the tiebreaker, so they took the two seed with U.S. third and Brazil fourth.
Poland tied Argentina with 12 points atop Pool B, but Argentina had the tiebreaker, leaving the 4-1 Polish in second place.
The only loss Poland suffered was at the hands of the Russians on the fourth day of preliminary play.
The U.S. men - with eight first-time Olympians - rallied with three points in each of the last three matches of the prelims after losing to Canada and Italy to open the Rio Olympics.
Brazil beat France in the final game of the prelims Monday night to earn a trip to the quarterfinals and a date with Argentina at 9:15 p.m.

9 a.m. - Canada vs. Russia
1 p.m. - USA vs. Poland
5 p.m. - Italy vs. Iran
9:15 p.m. - Brazil vs. Argentina
After the quarterfinals, the men are off for a day before the semifinals begin Friday.
