Iran's Kianoush Rostami will take home the gold medal in the men's 85kg weight class, setting a world record total of 396kg in the process.
After a slow start, Tian Tao of China made things tough on Rostami, setting an Olympic record for the clean and jerk (217kg) and total (395kg - before Rostami took it from him)
Romania's Gabriel Sincraian earned the bronze medal.
Rim Jong Sim won the gold medal in the women's 75kg weight class, adding an exclamation mark in the process.
The North Korean finishes with a total of 274kg, 16kg more than silver medal winner Draya Naumava of Belarus.
Lidia Valentin Perez of Spain wins the bronze with a total of 257kg.
Jenny Arthur of the United States finishes sixth in the competition. But the 22-year-old set a new American record with a 107kg snatch.

HUGE lift for Tian Tao for China. After taking risks with his first two attempts at the snatch, Tian converts with a 178kg lift.
Rostami has a lot of confidence in his lifts. He beats his personal best with 179kg in his second snatch. He'll take that lead into the clean and jerk.
Tian Tao is having a tough time. He missed his first two chances at the snatch. He's done the same with the clean and jerk.
Olaksandr Pielieshenko is in the lead with 385kg after a clean and jerk of 210kg.
Romania's Gabriel Sincraian is now in front with a personal best clean and jerk of 212kg to get him to a total of 385kg.
Rostami is in first for the moment with a total of 394kg after a clean and snatch of 215kg. Denis Ulanov also completes a 215kg clean and jerk, and is now in second with 390kg
Tian Tao goes ALL in to put himself in first. Now he holds Olympic records for clean and jerk with 217kg and total with 395kg.
Sincraian also lifts 217kg (ties Tian's new record) to put him in third with 390kg.
Rostami takes the gold away from Tian. He converts with a 217kg clean and jerk to set a new world record total with a 396kg. The gold gives Iran their first gold medal of the Rio Olympics.
Jenny Arthur of the United Stats lifted a new American record and personal best 107kg (235.8 lbs) in her third attempt at the snatch
Lidia Valentin Perez of Spain takes over the lead in the snatch with 116kg
First place now belongs to gold medal favorite Rim Jong Sim of North Korea with a snatch of 117kg. She expanded her lead to 5kg heading into the clean and jerk with a third lift of 121kg.
Arthur converted a clean and jerk of 130kg in her first attempt to get her total up to 237kg.
In her second clean and jerk attempt, Arthur lifted 135kg to expand her total to 242kg, 2kg short of her personal best and American record.
Jenny Arthur can't complete a 141 clean and jerk, and will finish the competition with a total of 242kg.

Rim Jong Sim clinches the gold with a clean and jerk of 145kg to get her total to 266kg. Draya Naumava of Belarus takes silver with 258kg. Valentin Perez wins the bronze.

Theodoros Iakovidis of Greece and Giovanni Battista Bardis of France both completed snatch lifts of 160kg. Iakovidis will be taking a lead into the clean and jerk by virtue of bodyweight.
Iakovidis holds the group B lead with a total of 350 kg after a clean and jerk of 190kg.
The lead now belongs to Battista Bardis after a clean and jerk of 192kg, pushing his total to 357kg.

Maria Fernanda Valdes Paris of Chile leads group B heading into the clean and jerk after a snatch of 107kg.
Mary Opeloge of Samoa currently holdws the lead after a 118 kg clean and jerk with a total of 218kg.
The lead didn't last long, though. In her second clean and jerk attempt, Sona Poghosyan of Armenia lifted 122kg. That boosts her total to 219kg.
Alejandra Garza Garza of Mexico took the group B lead on her second attempt at the clean and jerk with a lift of 126kg with a total of 223kg.
Poghosyan reclaimed the lead on the very next lift with a clean and jerk of 126kg, moving her new total to 223kg. Garza Garza quickly took it back, moving her total to 224kg.
Well, there goes group B. Maria Fernanda Valdes Paris blew away the rest of the group B competion with a 135 clean and jerk. She attempted 142kg on her second and third chances, but couldn't convert.
