Posted: Updated:

Team USA’s Allison Brock and horse Rosevelt exhibit an extraordinary performance in Wednesday’s morning session of the Grand Prix round, landing the top spot tied with Great Britain’s Spencer Wilton with a score of 72.686%. Both riders are off to a tremendous start in their Olympic debuts imitate a graceful dance displaying balance, rhythm and subtleness in each movement.

Brock is looking to help team USA earn a spot on the podium in Rio after the team’s tough break in London.  The team earned gold in the 2015 US Nations cup and has been working nonstop to claim a title in Rio.The team must continue to follow in Brock’s footsteps in the Grand Prix round to hold a top spot next to reigning champions, Great Britain on the leaderboard.  Kasey Perry-Glass will test in the afternoon round while Steffan Peters and Laura Graves will perform in Thursdays round.

Spencer Wilton picks up where Great Britain left off in London, at the top of the leaderboard. Wilton and horse Super Nova are looking for a legendary ending to their extraordinary comeback. The 13-year-old horse suffered hind leg ligament damage in 2014 that many vets thought would be difficult to overcome. The injury threatened the duo’s Olympic chances, but by some miracle the horse has defied all odds and proves to be a top competitor.  Great Britain’s remaining riders must follow Wilton’s pace to defend their golden title.

Sweeden’s Mads Hendeliowitz holds the No. two spot on the leaderboard, scoring a 71.771% on her dressage performance. She helps land her team the No.3 spot early on in the competition, hoping to bring back a title.

Denmark, Spain, and France all remain competitive with scores ranging from 69.214 % to 69.900%. The teams must continue to show dominance in the three remaining rounds of the Grand Prix to advance to Friday’s Grand Prix special.

The second session of day one’s Grand Prix round will begin at 12:30 pm EST.
