Pros go down on Day 4 - WSMV News 4

Boxing Recap: Pros fall to seasoned amateurs on Day 4

Posted: Updated:

In the morning round of boxing, Italian fighter Carmine Tommasone became the second of the three professional boxers who decided to compete in the Olympics and lose.

He would not be the last.

Thailand's Amnat Ruenroeng was also eliminated in his Tuesday night round of 16 fight against France's Sofiane Oumiha, who won via technical knockout. With Ruenroeng's loss, there are no longer any professional ranked boxers competing in the Olympics.

Rueroeng was the only one of the three pros competing in the Olympics to move on from the first heat of preliminaries. Unfortunately for the professional boxers, the seasoned amateur boxers will again be taking the Olympic glory.
