Mixed doubles teams announced, draw forthcoming

The mixed doubles teams for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games have been announced. Following her singles and women's doubles losses, Venus Williams has decided to play the category alongside compatriot Rajeev Ram.

Also playing: the U.S.' Bethanie Mattek-Sands, alongside Jack Sock. Both athletes have won Grand Slam titles in doubles and mixed doubles: Mattek-Sands scored women's doubles titles at the 2015 Australian Open and 2015 French Open, in addition to mixed doubles titles at the 2012 French Open and 2015 Australian Open. Jack Sock has won a men's doubles title at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships and a mixed doubles title at the 2011 US Open.
